25TH DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS DAY

25TH DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS DAY

" In the beginning was the Word ." (Jn 1, 1-18).

could translate " in the beginning was Love " Someone who sustains all things and gives meaning to everything. In the beginning there was nothing . From nothing, nothing ever comes. In the beginning there was one, there was Mystery, Love .. This Love is the source and root of all . Is at the top. This love has arisen the great plan of the Father: the Life.

At Christmas we celebrate the God lives in us, every one of us gathered here. We exist thanks to the infinite love of God. Therefore, nihilism is overcome and we can move from anxiety to confidence.

" The Word was the true light that enlightens every man ." , Jesus, is inner light that illuminates our darkness, that lights our heart, with the clarity of his love ... This Light is for everyone. He has placed in every human being the desire to light: bread, water, life is offered to all because he has lit in the human heart is hungry, thirsty and this desire for life. Jesus is " the Light that shines in the darkness ." Christmas is light, is Life. Why do we go from the light and prefer the dark? This little boy, poor, helpless, is the Light, Love and Life. He comes to make sense of our human life on Earth.

" came to his house and his own did not receive . "You can not say anything more outrageous in more simple words. God has come to our world. God not have to look high in the sky. God is here with us, between us. God dwells deep within our hearts. It is precisely where humans have stopped looking, in our flesh, with our weaknesses, our pain, our joys and sorrows ...

not a pious metaphor say today that God " came to his house but his own received him not " ... Means that in all of us is the dramatic ability to reject the love and also the possibility to choose the path that leads to life or the way in which we can spoil, it also means our own blindness in we can confuse light with darkness. God can not find a place among us. God has no home in refugee camps, in which die of hunger, in suffering hatred and war in the Middle East, Iraq and hot spots of our planet. God, sometimes it does not take home in our heart when we can not accept it or not ....

" The Word became flesh and dwelt among us . " Remarkably the Evangelist uses the term "meat " instead of " man" to express that in Jesus, God took our humanity with all its weaknesses and limitations, our vulnerability as we live today. " The Word became flesh ." This is the fundamental affirmation of the Gospel of John with which we are aware that the birth of Jesus is not a mere historical fact, but much more. He comes to us and we welcome all, welcome our human condition. He comes to every human being is loved does not come to ask us anything, but to give it to everything.

In Jesus, God receives the fragility and impotence of our human condition. Jesus is the Word, "the plan" of God made flesh. Jesus makes God visible and close to every human being ... The humble face of Jesus of Nazareth shows us God's infinite love for us.

God has descended to the depths of our existence and yet we still find life empty. God has camped among us, and seems to be totally absent from our human relationships. God took our flesh and still do not know how to live our human condition tightly.

Today we are invited to open up the mystery of God who has shone in the man Jesus. We can also say with John, that "we beheld his glory ." We are called to also live the experience of today's Gospel: " We saw his glory, glory as of the only Son of the Father full of grace and truth ." life has been manifested in Jesus is present with this force of love, more powerful than our darkness, more powerful than death and that our hell. Because the force of Life has succeeded in Easter morning. face that death destroys is the Face of God's infinite love toward us again. He alone is the hope that gives us life. Celebrating Christmas has no meaning other than accept the Word of God is Jesus and making it present in our world.

" to God no one has ever seen ". Only Jesus has made him known. Certainly we talked much about God, but we have not seen, ie, we have no inner experience of God. Only Jesus has made known only to us Face has expressed love and compassion for all. Our life takes in the full sense.

We turn to Him and said: Thou hast loved us so much you come to us " for everyone who believes in you have eternal life ." Your Birth, Lord, is the best news we hear, which fills our life with joy.
