Christmas - Christmas Eve 2010

CHRISTMAS - NIGHT GOOD 2010

" I bring you the good news of great joy for all people"

you is born a Savior. " Lc (2.1 to 14).

; This is the great joy announced to the shepherds in Bethlehem, which Christians celebrate on this night: that God has Indeed one of us and has come to live our own lives and their love is forever with us. This week is especially bright: we celebrate the birth of the true Life.

The Gospel says that " the glory of the Lord shone around them ". On this night, the light overcame the darkness. The dark night is turned into light that surrounds them. When man looks deep into himself, God appears as a Light allows you to discover her own mystery, the mystery in his heart. For Christians, Christmas is the Festival of Lights, a light that God has kindled in the midst of humanity. This light illuminates all darkness and meaningful human life.

What the glow Your Birth, Lord, light up the night of our world and the night of our heart. May the force your love destroy all injustice and violence.

The story of the birth of Jesus is given by the angel's announcement to the shepherds " I bring you the good news of great joy for all people you is born a Savior."

This announcement to the shepherds is for all human beings. Pastors are the first recipients of the Good News of salvation. The shepherds were at that time a class negligible. Pastors represent the most marginalized of society. And it turns out, the first message of hope and joy, is aimed at them. God has a predilection for small, the poor and those without. No one is excluded from the joy of Christmas but we feel we come from poor or injured for life ...

All are invited to be enveloped in the cloak of tenderness and grace of Christmas and allow ourselves to be enlightened by the clarity of this night. Also this ad is for all of us on this Christmas Eve: " you is born a Savior ." This today, God save us always. In this " today" is present the full and definitive life that God offers everyone. " Today" is the right time when God gives us as good news, as joy and peace for all.

" Today, I was born a Savior. " This week the time it opens to the eternal, for you, Jesus, you were born between us. With your birth you have made the human time a " today" of salvation ... You has sanctified the days, years, centuries. You, Lord, have dispelled our fears, has renewed our hope and has filled the world with joy.

This Christmas, Jesus, through the angel's announcement, we repeated all: " Fear not, I bring you good news of great joy for the people ...". "will embrace this great joy in the silence of our hearts? As the Brother Alois, in his Letter from Chile: "the joy of the heart, this is your life, let sadness. "

The Gospel story tells how poetic angels sang that night in Bethlehem: "Glory to God in the heaven and on earth peace to those whom God love. "God loves all human beings ... our thirst to be loved , is satisfied in this week." God is Love. "God loved the world in Christ and in Him, in His birth, has revealed to all mankind the path of peace. But how can peace be without genuine solidarity between peoples?

Given this Child lying in a manger, our sense of communion and solidarity would cover tonight, to all men and women of this land marked by sadness, poverty and unemployment, all those represented on the shepherds of Bethlehem. On this night, our hearts are anxious and worried about the deep economic crisis affecting our world and particularly the poorest. It is precisely in these days cherished Christmas, we celebrate the One who was born in a manger poor, when we realize the existence of poverty, whose numbers are too disturbing. Nearly 20% of the population English is currently living below the relative poverty threshold. Many have lost their jobs and many who work do so in precarious, with "garbage contracts."

The Christmas celebrate is a call for solidarity and peace among all humans. Christians can not celebrate this party, forgetting all those men and women for whom Christmas will not be cause for celebration, but something that will remind you more crudely loneliness, old age, their sufferings and poverty. We can not just look at the Child lying in the manger, forgetting the obligation to bear witness. We need, as the shepherds of Bethlehem, quicker return to our path. Joyful return to the grotto of Bethlehem to tell everyone: We have found the Light and Life!

; We welcome you, Lord, with joy, light shining in the night of our world. Heal us from our indifference. To our knowledge make our lives a gift, as you are gift to us in life. Give us the happiness that remains beyond the favorable or adverse circumstances, every moment, born of the certainty of being loved for You . Your star, Jesus, light the darkness of the world and turn us back to hope.
