SUNDAY TWENTY. TO CYCLE C.
"Pray always undeterred." (Luke 18,1-8).
This is the invitation of Jesus in today's Gospel: "Pray always without becoming discouraged " .
The focus of the parable is not centered on the unjust judge, of course, there is a figure of God, but Faith widow who firmly believed that to achieve justice for which he was entitled. The widow of the parable is a symbol of what it means to live a situation of helplessness, a time limit ..., representing the poorest and most defenseless, but is also a model of tenacity. Therefore, the whole parable is an invitation to pray always, undeterred and confident that we are always heard.
Jesus uses this parable to invite the disciples to deal with the situation. If the insistent plea of \u200b\u200bthe widow has made the judge makes a fair decision reluctantly, with the more reason " God will do justice to his chosen cry to him day and night."
This is the meaning of the sentence: not so much remind God what He already knows, but to strengthen our faith and trust in Him do not pray that God will remember us, but for us not forget that God is our Father. Pray remember is that God exists and loves us, we are not alone and lost, and without regard to the blue and therefore within us, the anxiety can be transformed, each day, confidence.
All prayer involves a recognition that we need God and ultimately, He holds our lives : is not a cheap consolation for the hard times, but to find in him the ultimate foundation that guides and gives meaning to our lives deeply.
"For God Will not justice to those who cry day and night. ?
"night and day Scream" is the prayer of the oppressed by an unjust system that call for a radical change in the world. The parable emphasizes the active persistence of the widow to bring forward their case, despite the judge. In this parable of the unjust judge, " that finally does justice to the poor woman, Jesus presents the two basic attitudes of prayer: the confidence and perseverance, knowing that God always hears our prayers. This parable contains, above all, a message of confidence. The poor are not left to their fate. God is not deaf to their cries. God have mercy on us all. It is possible to live on trust.
Prayer makes us aware of the mystery of God's presence in our lives and its liberating action in us ... Without prayer, the Church is out of breath, without prayer we also ran out of the impulse that fuels our life .... Almost without realizing that we have filled our lives so busy, so many worries, so overwhelmed, we've come to subtly evade God. current culture accelerates us and fills us quickly. It is very difficult to escape the fast pace we live and we need to go pray in God's time is a time of calm and free.
Yes, we need time to pray, it seems we always have to do something more pressing or more important or more useful. This situation ends up resulting in a loss of interiority. "The drama of contemporary culture is the lack of interiority, (John Paul II).
"When the Son of man returns will he find faith on earth ?". Jesus seems to doubt that his followers maintain that faith and trust, both present and future: "When the Son of Man returns will he find faith on earth ?." The story progresses, the events pass quickly, the culture changes, political and economic systems evolve and we are all aware that it is developing a new humanity ... But what remains in us that faith and trust in God that another world and another way of living are possible for us?
In today's Gospel, Jesus invites us to prayer: "Pray always undeterred." Prayer plays a key role in the life of Jesus. Prayer is present in their daily living. To The springs spontaneously from the deep relationship lives with the Father "With what confidence and joy Jesus live their relationship with the Father? What is awakened in his heart when he invoked God as Father? How would you feel to invoke it? His confidence in the Father stands by the most difficult moments of his life. Jesus lives from the experience of God the Father, called him "Abba" and lives to God as someone so close, good and endearing that when speaking to him, he comes spontaneously to her lips just a word, "Abba, Father my dear. " That's the secret of Jesus.
We also need to invoke God as Jesus incessantly and without being discouraged, we need to "shout" to do justice to which no one defends. We must ask ourselves if our prayer is a cry to God for justice for the poor of the world. Without a deeper relationship with God, how can we live with joy the news of the Gospel is countercultural in our world?
This Sunday is the day of the Mission Sunday we are reminded that the best we can announce to the world is beauty and joy of the Gospel proclaim the merciful love of God manifested in Jesus, to all peoples of the earth.
Today we make our prayer H. Roger: "Lord, Interior Light, You enlighten both the happy days as a trial period of our lives. When the light seems to disappear, your presence remains in us."
