Can I Put Paper Bowl In The Microwave

Spirituality: "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us"

SUNDAY TWENTY TO CYCLE C.

" Jesus, Master, have mercy on us ." (Luke 17, 11-19).

This is the cry of the lepers of Jesus: " Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. " can also be our cry today.

These lepers represent the most marginalized and socially excluded religious Israel, but also from ours today.

lepers in the Jewish mind was defiled by his illness, were excluded from access God and the people of Israel. They were also transmitters of impurities the same people who object. So stood in the distance. The leper was outside of society, afraid of being contaminated infected physically and religiously. Was obliged to advise shouting their state of impurity (saying: "I am a leper"), so that nobody goes to them and had to live in the open ... Were in some way, for the mentality of the time, a punishment by God.

The figure of these ten lepers appears as the extreme case of all marginalization. According to the Jewish mind had no possible access to them God. Today day, there are the "new lepers, the outcasts of our society: immigrants, prostitutes, drug addicts, refugees, those living overcrowded prisons, the elderly who live alone ... We, sometimes, in some situations, we can also feel like those lepers, when we experience feelings of unworthiness, worthlessness, anxiety, to feel rejected ...

However, Jesus open to all human beings a path of hope. So far cry lepers " Jesus, Master, have mercy on us " ... marginalization is what makes them cry. In his cry can see today the expression of the anguish of so many human beings as they want out of a miserable situation. With this cry show a absolute confidence in the power of Jesus. They want Jesus to remove the obstacle which deprives them of the love of God and prevents them from participating in the Kingdom that is advertised. Also we can express to Jesus, the Risen , our anxieties and desires out of that which "drowns " our life.

Ultimately, which can change our hearts are not the words or ideas but a relationship alive with the One who is always active in the secret of every human being.

Jesus' reaction is unusual: to see them, "" Go and introduce you to the priests and while were on their way clean. " Jesus was never indifferent to human suffering ... He is responsible for our troubles. Jesus' will is fulfilled without delay. It happens that the lepers are cleansed the words of Jesus, its liberating force. But of the ten cured, only one recognizes that healing is an act of love of God, which is why Jesus question "'m not ten cleansed?; The other nine, where are they? Did not this foreigner returned to give glory to God ?."

One, only one, also get to experience salvation. The complaint sore of Jesus in the absence of the nine lepers who take health without you wake up in his life thanks is a summons to us today. "has become more this foreigner returned to give glory to God? .

When only live with the obsession of the useful and practical than not come to discover life as a gift . When we reduce our lives to be eating well, news, new sensations, you can not perceive God as Source of Life , an intense and joyful life. When we live by believing in rituals, rules, fatalism, and we lost our inner freedom, is difficult to find a loving God who created us for love. Christians have lost the admiration of God and his works. The complaint of Jesus lamenting the lack of appreciation of the cured lepers He might be directed to a lot of us. We need to discover life as a gift , and that truth is not something but someone.

opening to the mystery of Jesus discover life as a gift, as grace : Life, our strength, health, the air we breathe, the sun shines, people who have joined us, the Christian community to which we belong, the Word, the Eucharist ... deep certainty that God loves us and cares for us, his children feel power. Everything is a gift of God and we need to say "Thank ."

why Jesus says, " your faith has saved " now is not the cure achieved by the ten, this foreigner is something unique, different, something special salvation, have God in your life , opening the Mystery of God, which is what enables human beings to fill her life meaning. What saves it is the inner encounter with Him who is the Source of Salvation and life.

need to know Him, receive His light in the depths of ourselves fall in love, increasingly, of Him who is the hope of our life and let his Spirit rekindle the fire of his love.

this Samaritan As we leave we can also sprout in the heart of every one of us thanks for the Gift of Life. We can say Thanks. Lord, make us see ourselves free from leprosy, purifying our hearts and following you, light of our lives.
