"Do not be overwhelmed by life" Mt 6, 24 to 34

OCTAVO DOMINGO T. O.   CICLO A

" No estéis agobiados por la vida" . Mt. 6, 24 – 34

This bespoken translates a Greek verb that means something captures our hearts.

"Do not be overwhelmed by life thinking about what you will eat, or body thinking how you are going to wear."

is very likely that Jesus addresses these words to the group of disciples who had left everything to follow. The concerns of life had passed for them to be of secondary importance, because the Kingdom of God had become the most important. And from that choice and experience, you can live in the area of \u200b\u200babsolute trust in the Father who watches over all and knows our needs. He who cares for the birds and flowers of the field, take care with much more reason for all of us and every human being.

"Look at the birds: do not sow or blind, or store ... fiaos how the lilies grow: not labor or spin."

This message of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field has made us smile a lot, they say you have to be realistic. In fact, Jesus does not invite the negligence and irresponsibility. Jesus says not to worry, worry, live in distress. Trust opposes the anguish, the anxiety and obsession of wanting to control everything. The believer is fully trusts the Father's love, but still working.

"USCAR B first the kingdom of God and His righteousness ." The key to this message, it is essential to Jesus' seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness "and this is just a call to change from the root of these situations and the economic and social system that engenders. And when we do, that is, when we focus on the essentials in our lives, then we experience and live the Gospel as Good News.

what we use to have to eat if as individuals we waste?, What do we need to dress well and the last if we are empty inside?, What serves us well overwhelmed if we lose the essential thing?. Jesus insists that the former is the Kingdom: the radical change of man and the systems that generate dehumanization.

In short, the insistent invitation of Jesus to live not overwhelmed by the different concerns of life, no longer produces men and women of today, the impression of naivety and lack of realism. But perhaps we could ask but we who are not living in a totally wrong.

We take for granted in order to ensure happiness, we must have things, money, comfort, success, but experience tells us that, in fact, that way, we find exactly what we wanted: things, money, comfort, but not necessarily find happiness.

"You can not serve God and money." This is the central finding of Jesus in the Gospel of this Sunday. Why should we continue to develop the cult of money as the only god that offers security, power and happiness?

neoliberal model, we are immersed, it enriches a few at the expense of the poverty of many. Neoliberal globalization and postmodern culture have promoted a model of society based primarily on an economic value. Has created a culture marked by a fierce individualism, where appearance is better than reality, the transient more permanent, rather than exteriority and interiority where, above all, the be worth more than be .

The problem is not resolved to seek new sources of satisfaction. The problem is not resolved by compensating our empty ... On the contrary, every time we make our happiness depend more and more, that happiness is even more problematic and uncertain, because there are increasingly more likely that something fails us again and leave us dissatisfied and empty. Then it grows in us the tension, unrest, the exhaustion, and frustration. Would not it be more realistic to follow the instructions of Jesus: search every time the kingdom of God and His righteousness and not overwhelm both the morning? Would not it be better if they would welcome each day, each sunrise as a gift and an opportunity to move forward in our lives?

live a very opportune time to ask: What kind of society we want to build national and global so deep in this crisis we are experiencing?

Perhaps our prayer today might be: Lord wake us up to the trust. Live not so worried and obsessed about things ... You that you take care of the birds and flowers of the field, give us first look your kingdom and your righteousness. Lord Jesus, put your hands in our present and our future, our lives and our needs. You who are our treasure and our heritage forever.
